An aesthetic choice became a tribute.

David Hockney, Britain's most celebrated painter of light and water, died on 11 June 2026, just as we were choosing the visual language for B2BV2V London. We had already turned to his world, the flat saturated colour, the mirrored water, the confident line, to give the London edition its look. His passing turned an aesthetic choice into a tribute.

Why him

The Dialogue of Skyscrapers moves between cities: Warsaw, Dubai, London. Hockney spent a lifetime moving between Yorkshire and California and back, painting the same truth in both, that a place is its light and its water. London is a river city seen from a rooftop room, and his palette is its natural language: cerulean water, viridian green, coral & warm gold.

The tribute continues on stage. An independent art expert gives a 15 to 20 minute keynote on Hockney's legacy and on art as an asset class, where the language of the canvas meets the language of trophy real estate. The slot is marked in the programme.
